Frequently Asked Questions

The magnetic mount requires a steel surface to grip. For aluminium roofs, consider the Suction Mini Mount or Bolting Kit instead.

Yes — the magnetic grip is rated for highway speeds. However, we recommend removing the Starlink dish before driving and using the mount at camp.

Yes, the DriveMate mount is designed specifically for the Starlink Mini. For the Gen3 Standard dish, see our Gen3 Flat Magnetic Mount.

The mount has a protective rubber base that prevents scratching. We recommend cleaning the surface before attaching for best grip and protection.

Modifications needed.

Quick delivery and simple to install. I found the mount sat too low and it will allow the Starlink mini to rub on the roof of the vehicle and cause damage to the paintwork. Magnets need to be 'taller' to let the mini clear the roof. Quick modification got it working ok.

Product works well

Product works well. No movement while travelling. Only issue we had was initial setup. Two of the screws for the bracket would not hold but solved this by buying bigger screws.
