Install Guide
How to Install Your Mount
Choose the mounting method that suits your setup. Always test the mount and attached equipment before travelling.
Magnetic Mount Installation
- Choose a flat, solid ferrous-metal mounting surface. Magnetic mounts will not attach to aluminium, fibreglass, plastic, glass, carbon fibre or many stainless-steel surfaces.
- Clean both the vehicle surface and the magnetic base using a clean, soft cloth. Remove dust, dirt, mud, oil, wax, polish and moisture.
- Check that no grit or debris is trapped between the magnet and vehicle surface, as this may reduce holding strength and can scratch paintwork.
- Position the mount on the selected surface and press it firmly into place.
- Route and secure all cables so they cannot move, rub, snag, become pinched in doors or hatches, or place load on the mount.
- Attach your equipment and confirm it is secure before driving.
- Check the mount, cables and attached equipment before each trip and after rough roads, high winds, rain, dust, vibration or extended travel.
- Where loss of the attached equipment could create a hazard or cause damage, use a suitable secondary retention method such as a safety tether.
Suction Mount Installation
Internal use only
- Use the suction mount only on a clean, smooth, non-porous interior surface, such as glass, sunroof, or a smooth dashboard mounting pad designed for suction mounts.
- Do not install on textured, soft-touch, curved, cracked, dirty or uneven surfaces.
- Clean and dry both the mounting surface and suction cup. Avoid cleaners that leave behind wax, silicone or oily residue.
- Check the suction cup is clean and free from dust, lint, damage or distortion.
- Place the suction cup flat against the selected surface, press firmly and lock the lever or mechanism fully.
- Attach the equipment, then gently test the mount by applying light pressure to confirm it is firmly secured.
- Route cables so they do not obstruct the driver, interfere with controls, airbags, steering, gear selection, pedals, screens or visibility.
- Recheck the suction mount before each drive. Remove and refit it if the suction cup begins to lift, loses adhesion or has been exposed to excessive heat.
**PLEASE NOTE:
The customer is responsible for selecting a suitable mounting location, correctly preparing the surface, installing the mount and regularly checking the mount, cables and attached equipment during use. Mount performance can be affected by surface condition, temperature, vibration, vehicle movement, rough-road travel, wind load and improper installation.
Roadee accepts no responsibility for loss, damage, injury, vehicle or paint damage, or other costs resulting from incorrect installation, unsuitable mounting surfaces or locations, inadequate surface preparation, failure to inspect the mount, misuse, modification or use outside the product’s intended purpose.
